Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. One of her first TV performances were Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother played the role. However, her parents did not want her to perform until she turned an adult fearing the effect of stress. Perry acknowledged that she was not at ease in the stage during high school. However, she began doing it to make friends at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry was able to land small TV roles in Law & Order: Criminal Intent following her graduation. However, her homesickness caused her to move to California and she returned to work in the stage. She and her mother starred on Broadway together for the play The Other Place, in 2013. In 2015 she performed alongside her father as well as Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning film Anna Christie in the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry played nine roles in The Family, an ABC film The Family, in 2016. In 2017 she had an recurring role in her own ABC Political thriller Scandal starring her father. She was also cast in The CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. The role was offered to her in an audition that was open despite being connected to this character.
