Lita Rossana Ford Also called Lita Ford is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist born in Britain. She was the lead guitarist for The Runaways, a hard-rock band made up of all girls in late 1970s. Their punkish music and provocative lyrics helped them get noticed by the rock community. The group failed to make a significant impact in their home country of the United States but earned huge recognition abroad, particularly in Japan. Following the split of the group in 1979 Ford started a lucrative solo career in heavy metal. She started taking voice lessons before releasing her debut album "Out to Blood" which was followed by "Dancin" on the Edge. Ford went missing for several time from the scene as the two albums failed to get the attention they deserved. She returned with a bang with her smashing hit album , 'Lita' which came out in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, her fame was temporary, and she was gone for a few years. Following the release of 'Black' in 1995, and 'Wicked Wonderland just 15 years later, it was back in the spotlight. The album she released most recently "Time Capsule" was released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
